Meet Emma

Emma Berger-Singer, clinical intern

I’m Emma Berger-Singer! I’m a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lenoir-Rhyne University with nearly 20 years of experience working with children and families as an educator, art instructor, and yoga teacher. I’m also the founder of Asheville Kids Yoga + Art, where I create spaces for children and families to move, create, play, and connect.

I hold a degree in Elementary Education, a 250-hour Yoga Teacher Certification, and advanced training in therapeutic and trauma-informed yoga. My counseling approach is person-centered, with a special interest in somatic and expressive arts. I believe creativity, movement, and connection can be powerful ways to explore emotions, build self-awareness, and deepen our connection with ourselves and others.

I’m especially drawn to working with mothers and caregivers, children and adolescents, and individuals navigating anxiety, stress, identity, parenthood, and life transitions. I hope to create a warm, compassionate space where you can show up as you are and feel safe, seen, and understood. When it fits our work together, I enjoy incorporating creativity, mindfulness, and mind-body awareness.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my partner and our three daughters, five-year-old twins, and their six-year-old sister! As a family, we love making art, being outside, and trying new foods together!
